by MAX on Nov.27, 2009, under Uncategorized

Roger Federer secured the year – end No.1 ranking for the fifth time in his career, beating Andy Murray 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 in a Group A match. The record 15 –time Grand Slam champion is now closing in on Pete Sampras’s all – time mark of six. He is now level with Jimmy Connors who also ended five years as No. 1.
Federer earned the top year ranking after winning his opening two matches at the ATP World Tour Finals. Rafael Nadal, who ended Federer’s five year run as the end –of –season No.1 last year, had a mathematical chance of overtaking Federer for the top spot but lost his opening match at the tournament for the top eight players in the world.
“ It’s one of the greatest performances I think I’ve achieved,” said Federer. “After having a rough 2008, coming back this year and being able to dominate and play at the top when the depth in tennis is so, so great at the moment, I think it is a wonderful achievement,” Federer said. “ It is a wonderful feeling.”
Up next for Federer is trying to match Sampras with a sixth year- end No. 1 ranking. He is currently tied with Jimmy Connors with five apiece.

World Snooker Championship

by MAX on Nov.26, 2009, under Uncategorized

Ng-On Yee became the youngest champion when she trounced Kathy Parashis in the final of the World snooker championship in Hyderabad, India on Tuesday. Ng-On Yee was not even born when Kathy Parashis of Australia began playing snooker. The 19 year old Hong Kong girl produced a classy performance to beat the 49 year old Australian 57-22, 50-55, 52-44, 63-42, 83-20, 65-34 in the final of the ONGC-IBSF World snooker championship. She also became the youngest World champion. Kathy, the 10-time winner of the Australian Open, was no match for the Hong Kong player whose potting and safety- play were of high quality. The loss in the second frame proved an aberration as Ng-On got back into her stride immediately. As the contest progressed, it became increasingly clear that only a sensational turnaround would help the Australian. That did not happen as Ng-On, who has the rare distinction of winning the Hong- Kong open men’s title too twice, sustained the momentum throughout. Though Ng-On and Kathy were playing their maiden World championship final, the pressure seemed to have got to the Australian despite her vast experience. She never really got into the groove and presented a contrasting picture to her confident opponent. A visibly delighted Ng-On, who started playing snooker only 5 years ago, was modesty personified when she said she got the lucky breaks right through. The Hong Kong girl was proud to give her country its first ladies title in World snooker.

Most of us suffer from neck pain or low back pain. The cause for these pains is the alignment of the spinal cord has gone amiss. The treatment for the alignment of the spinal cord was spinal surgery. This was very risky, as all the nerves of the human body passes through the spinal cord. A small mistake might cripple the patient forever. But today there are many hospitals where they treat the spinal problems by a new technique, the Decompression of the spinal cord. Non-surgical spinal decompression is a boon to patients suffering from chronic back and neck pain. In the US there is the famous Colorado Springs Chiropractor where they treat the patients with spinal problems. The spinal decompression method gives high pain relief and the patient is guaranteed a better quality of life. Chronic neck or low back pain, bulging or herniated discs and spinal stenosis, everything is treated.
After the decompression, patients are made to exercise with the MedX core strengthening machine, which helps to improve both spinal range of movement and spinal stability. Lumbar strengthening is very important and it helps avoid surgery. The core strengthening machine is far better than gym exercises and home exercises.
